On hearing that US swimmer Missy Franklin was a fan of his, pop star Justin Bieber tweeted: ?1?

17-year-old Franklin rose to fame with victory in the 100m backstroke on Monday. With a serious case of ?Bieber fever?, she responded to the star: 1

Bieber also sent his support to Canadian gymnast Dominique Pegg, said to be a long-serving ?Belieber?. ?1? he tweeted. 

Having achieved a best ever fifth place for Canada in the team artistic gymnastics final, Pegg responded: ?1?

British diver Tom Daley has attracted similar support from the music world, with singer Cheryl Cole declaring: ?1?

Elsewhere, Indian shooter Gagan Narang received messages of support from top cricketers and Bollywood actors after securing India?s first medal of the Games ? a bronze in the men?s 10m air rifle.
