Carnival, Oceania and Viking at the top of US cruise research
US based CruiseCompete has released its August 2013 CruiseTrends? report data for consumer trend Information for ocean and river cruises revealing what’s consumers say is hot, including the top ships, lines and travel dates for premium, luxury, and river cruising.
The most popular cruise line, based on the total number of quote requests for each cruise line in the given month, showed Carnival at the top of the premium/contemporary category, Oceania Cruises in the luxury category and Viking River Cruises in the river cruise category.
In terms of the most popular ships, based on the total number of quote requests for each ship, number one in the premium/contemporary, Oasis of the Seas (changed from Enchantment of the Seas last month), as number one, in luxury, Queen Mary 2 and river cruises, MS AmaCello.
Based on the total number of quote requests for each region, top destination for US cruisers was was the Caribbean, followed by Europe and Europe.
