# Challenger named GM at Mercure Singapore Bugis

1Rhys Challenger is appointed general manager of the Mercure Singapore Bugis.

Rhys first joined AccorHotels in 1996 and has since held various front office, F&B, executive assistant manager and hotel manager positions across several hotels in New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.

He took on his first general manager role at the Mercure Nadi in 2008 before moving back to New Zealand in February 2010 as GM of Mercure Auckland Windsor, holding a dual role as GM of All Seasons Auckland in June 2011.

He relocated to Asia in 2012 as resident manager at Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay, where he was promoted to hotel manager in June 2015.
