Choice Hotels International reveals the findings of its survey on the latest trends and habits among American travellers this summer. A couple of highlights from an otherwise lightweight study:

\* 35% say complimentary breakfast is the most important amenity when choosing a hotel, with free WiFi in second place. ?WiFi held the top spot last summer.

\* Men spend an average of US$14.57 more on a hotel room than women.
