# New appointments at Jumeirah

Jumeirah Group has announced a number of new appointments.

Hakan Petek joins Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on Palm Jumeirah as general manager, replacing Fernando Gibaja.

1 Hakan Petek

Hakan joined Jumeirah in June 2010 as executive assistant manager, rooms, at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa in Kuwait. 

With over 27 years’ experience in the hotel industry, his career highlights include eight hotel openings across several five-star luxury brand properties in Turkey: Dedeman and the Sheraton in Antalya, Conrad in Istanbul, Swissotel in Istanbul and Izmir, as well as Raffles Browns and Guoman Hotel both in London.

1 Violet Wang

Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai appoints Violet Wang as director of marketing & communications. She joins from InterContinental Hotels Group where she was responsible for the brand marketing communications of Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo and led marketing activities at hotel property level.

1 Christopher Baker

Jumeirah Vittaveli in the Maldives appoints Christopher Baker as resident manager. He first joined the Jumeirah Group early on in his career, for the opening of Jumeirah Beach Hotel. He has filled managerial positions for a number of hospitality companies including Rosewood, Anantara Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels, and Emirates Hotels & Resorts, in countries including Vietnam, UAE, Jordan, India and the UK.
