Benchmark names John Kingston Director of Human Resources for Villas of Grand Cypress Resort
Benchmark Hospitality International?, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has appointed John Kingston director of human resources for the Villas of Grand Cypress. Mark Cox, Benchmark’s general manager for the Villas, Benchmark’s Personal Luxury Resort? in Orlando, Florida, made the announcement.
“I am very pleased to welcome John to our resort,” said Mr. Cox. “He brings a strong skill-set in human resource management to the Villas, as well as success in engaged leadership of his staff and the property overall. It’s good to have him on our executive team.”
John Kingston comes to his new position with significant experience in human resource operations for luxury hotels. He was previously director of human resource operations for the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Resort, located in Orlando. He served in the same position for the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, following success as assistant director of human resources at the resort’s sister property in Orlando. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kingston held positions of increasing responsibility in human resources for hotels coast to coast.
Mr. Kingston earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, and was active in the Gaylord Entertainment High Potential Leadership Program. Mr. Kingston resides in the Orlando area.
