The?American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute?(EI) has signed a?Global Academic Partner(GAP) agreement with Cambrian for International Studies (CIS) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. CIS is part of Cambrian School and College, which has about 2,000 students studying in several areas. About 200 of those students will pursue hospitality studies through CIS.

CIS offers bachelor’s and master’s level education in collaboration with the Swiss Institute for Management and Hospitality (Swiss IM&H) in Switzerland. Mr. Amin Khandaker, CHE, CSGP, HPC, the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) of Swiss IM&H, made the proposal to EI to accept the application for being a GAP partner and to offer different EI diploma programs in the hospitality field. Mr. Khandaker, who is the first Bangladeshi to earn the?Certified Hospitality Educator?(CHE?) designation, is also responsible for the quality assurance of CIS’s hospitality department.

“It is a real pleasure to join the world’s most prestigious hospitality educational institute’s community with EI,” said Mr. Khandaker. “It has opened a new door for the Bangladeshi students to get a standard level of hospitality education from such a professional organization like EI. I strongly believe EI is doing a splendid performance in the hospitality sector of Bangladesh and I personally feel happy to connect CIS with EI. On behalf of all the Bangladeshi hospitality students, I would like to thank both EI and CIS for taking this initiative.”
