InterCityHotel Group makes another international move and plans new hotel in Rotterdam
1A new InterCityHotel is being developed within the immediate vicinity of Rotterdam Central Station. The project is scheduled for completion in 2017. The InterCityHotel Rotterdam will offer the very best level of comfort to leisure and business travellers alike. 180 rooms from the latest InterCityHotel generation, each of which will be at least 20 m? in size, will deliver a feel-good factor whilst conference facilities extending over an area of 440 m2 and featuring five rooms and a pre-function section will be available for meetings and events. Culinary needs will be served by a restaurant and a 162 m2 Bistro Lounge. A particular perk for both city trip enthusiasts and business visitors is the fact that the InterCityHotel “FreeCityTicket” will also be included in the room price, enabling guests to use the local public transport system free of charge.
The new building has been designed by the architectural firm Dam and Partners Architecten of Amsterdam. The developer and owner is Weena Boulevard C.V., a subsidiary of the Rotterdam-based company LSI Beheer B.V..
Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Frankfurter Steigenberger Hotels AG, believes that the new location is a perfect match for the company’s expansion strategy. “As the home of Europe’s largest port, Rotterdam is an important industrial and commercial centre.
