Marriott names Lam communications VP for Asia Pacific

Marriott International names Alethea Lam vice president, communications for Asia Pacific, based out of its office in Hong Kong.

In her new role, Lam will be managing and orchestrating the company’s internal and external communications, including corporate reputation and crisis management.

In addition, she will also oversee the holistic brand communications strategy for Marriott International’s 20-plus brands in Asia-Pacific, ensuring maximum positive exposure for key hotel openings and brand initiatives and programs.

She will also provide strategic counsel to Marriott’s over 550 operating hotels in Asia Pacific; and is also a member of the APAC leadership team.

“Alethea was the ideal leader to oversee our communication efforts in this important and growing market whereby a large proportion of our source market resides,” says Peggy Fang Roe, chief sales and marketing officer, Marriott International Asia Pacific.

Lam was previously director of corporate communications for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.

Her experience in the hospitality industry spans 12 years and she previously worked across industries including fashion and entertainment.
