Global Entry expedites screening for pre-approved, low-risk international travelers. By removing known, low-risk travelers from the regular screening process, the program enables CBP to focus resources on potentially riskier unknown travelers.

?America?s travel community congratulates CBP on its important success,? said Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association. ?Global Entry works. It simultaneously improves security and efficiency and should be expanded by making travelers from more countries eligible for enrollment.?

Inbound international travel to the United States is America?s No. 1 services export and a key driver of economic growth and job creation. In 2012, international travel added nearly $130 billion to the U.S. economy.

?CBP has an important role in facilitating inbound international travel to the United States. In addition to expanding the highly successful Global Entry program, Congress should make the entry process more efficient and secure by providing the resources necessary to hire at least 3,500 new CBP officers for America?s international airports,? concluded Dow.
