UK builder wins $181m deal for UAE's Hard Rock Hotel
UK construction giant Carillion said on Wednesday that its joint venture business in the UAE has won a contract to build a Hard Rock Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Al Futtaim Carillion has been awarded a ?110 million ($181 million) contract by Aabar Properties to build the five star hotel.
The property, first announced in 2012, will have 378 rooms and will be located on the UAE capital’s Corniche.
The hotel will be the first entry into the Middle East for the famous US hospitality brand.
The hotel will also feature an assortment of signature restaurants, entertainment and meeting facilities, including the renowned Hard Rock Caf?, Carillion said in a statement.
Other key attractions will include a Sky Lobby on the fifth floor podium, a Lobby Bar with outdoor entertainment deck and hookah lounge, as well as a 37th floor Sky Bar with swimming pool.
The resort will also host the Body Rock fitness centre and signature Rock Spa.
