Waterford Hotel Group Appoints Duane Schroder to Corporate Team as Regional Hotel Director
WATERFORD, CT (October 9, 2013)?— Waterford Hotel Group has announced the promotion of Duane Schroder to the position of Regional Hotel Director for the company. Schroder, who most recently served as General Manager for the 393-room Hilton Hartford, will be responsible for overseeing the operations of several Waterford Hotel Group properties. Waterford is a leading hotel and convention center management firm and currently manages 29 properties in eight states, representing more than 3,500 hotel rooms nationwide as well as the Connecticut Convention Center.
As Regional Hotel Director, Schroder’s duties include developing and maintaining relationships with ownership and franchise partners, budgeting, fostering associate development, sustaining high guest satisfaction scores, maintaining Waterford and brand service standards, and overseeing the overall performance of the hotels. Schroder’s efforts will be directed toward several of Waterford’s select service hotels, providing support and direction to the hotel teams at each location.

Schroder joined Waterford in 2002, where he participated in the company’s International Training Program after completing his hospitality degree from Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa. Since that time, Schroder has held numerous positions within the company, including General Manager of the Radisson Hotel in Bloomfield Hills, MI, Director of Operations at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton, CT, and most recently, General Manager of the Hilton Hartford in CT.
Schroder and his family currently reside in Old Lyme, CT.
